As you may have experienced, your or your family’s healthcare needs didn't stop being a priority when leaving the house was a challenge. Doctors had to find ways to continue taking care of you while the world was adjusting to our new normal at the start of the COVID  pandemic.

As the  COVID pandemic came to a close and with fewer mobility problems, you may now visit me at either my St. Luke's or Capitol Medical Center clinic for a FACE-TO-FACE  INITIAL  CONSULTATION, then an  ONLINE FOLLOW-UP CONSULTATION, if applicable for your case.

WHAT IS TELECONSULTATION?

Teleconsultation or telemedicine is the act of providing clinical care using telecommunications technology. It forms a patient-physician relationship. It includes history-taking, examination (by inspection), diagnosis formulation, acquisition of medical images and laboratory results as necessary, and treatment prescription.

However, it has inherent limitations and cannot replace an in-person patient-physician encounter.

This is a billed service, similar to an in-person visit. Pre-payment is required to book your slot.

Teleconsulting can also be a quick, convenient way to communicate with doctors, especially for chronic and stable patients, and can save time traveling to and waiting in the doctor's office.

It requires a strong mobile internet or Wi-Fi connection and will be scheduled through  her St. Luke’s Medical Center or Capitol Medical Center clinics. 

What can you expect from the teleconsultation?

• You can discuss your current medical condition, including your medications.

• I will ask you to perform certain procedures to simulate a neurologic exam.

• I will discuss my clinical consideration of your condition and the following steps.

• You may receive a list of laboratory tests to be done and/or a prescription for medication(s).

• You may need to follow up with me as agreed upon, in person if possible, or still by teleconsultation.

 

Limitations of Telemedicine

• The maximum effort will be exerted to ensure confidentiality and privacy, but this can not be guaranteed. The evaluation may not be as comprehensive due to the lack of an actual physical examination.

• The clinical impression that will be arrived at will depend on the honest and accurate answers of the patient and/or caregiver.

 

 

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

1.  IF Dr. Bernardo approves your request for a teleconsultation, call Capitol Medical Center or St. Luke's Medical Center - QC clinic to set an appointment

2. The secretary will provide the Payment Details after registration. (We are ready to accept online bank transfers, PayPal, or GCash.) Please arrange with the clinic secretary how you want your Service Invoice delivered. 

3.  We will give you the link to a user-friendly web-based telemedicine platform.  Log in 10 minutes before your appointment to check that your connection works properly. We may have to CONVERT IT TO A TELEPHONE CONSULTATION if we encounter technical difficulties.​
